Ancient Roman Knives

On this page we have listed an assortment of Roman knives. These Roman knives have been excavated from ancient Roman battlefields as well as from the areas surrounding Roman dwellings. The use for which a particular Roman knife was intended or any other interesting and useful information is noted for each knife if it is known. These knives are in very nice condition for an iron implement and make wonderful additions to a weapons collection or as an addition to an ancient Roman coins collection.

(RK0017) Roman Knife
1st - 3rd Century A.D.

Comments: This is a Roman iron folding type knife from the 1st - 3rd century A.D. The knife still has a single rivet which was used for attachment to a swiveling handle which is now lost to time and the elements. The ring which would have been used as a suspension loop is still in place in the end hole.
Size: The knife is 5" long (12.7 cm)

Comments: This is a Roman iron folding type knife from the 1st - 3rd century A.D. The knife is missing the single rivet which would have been in the first hole and  used for attachment to a swiveling handle which is now lost to time and the elements as well. The ring which would have been used as a suspension loop is still in place in the end hole.
