Antiquities
The collecting of ancient artifacts can be very rewarding and
can compliment an ancient coin collection giving it more historical interest
than a collection of coins alone can achieve. On these pages you will be able to
find artifacts produced by the Roman, Greek, and Byzantine cultures, as well as
artifacts of other ancient civilizations.

| Late period, 715 - 30 B.C. |
| Comments: An Egyptian clay seal impressed with a cartouche. Evident on the clay seal are the
hieroglyphs: Ra, Ptah, and Ta(?). |
| Size: The seal's diameter is 3/4 in. (1.8 cm). It is in excellent
condition and intact. |

| (RL001) Roman Terracotta Oil Lamp |
| Circa 3rd Century A.D. |
| Comments: A nice Roman oil lamp with a wreath design around the
center
hole and a scroll design at the base of the nozzle. There are two small
chips to the body of the lamp. |
| Size: 2 7/8" long (72 mm long). |

| Circa 2nd Century A.D. |
| Comments: A nice Roman oil lamp with a simple design of lines and
dots encircling the center hole, with a small scroll design at the base of the
spout. There is a small chip on the end of the nozzle. |
| Size: 3" long (75 mm long). |
| (RL003) Roman Terracotta Oil Lamp |
| Circa 3rd Century A.D. |
| Comments: A nice Roman oil lamp with two Vs inscribed on the handle.
The joining of the two mold made pieces of this oil lamp can be seen along
it's sides, and shows clearly how these lamps were made. |
